I was just going to comment to you that we received our package the other day! It was great looking through all the artwork and we've already enjoyed the DVDS! Thanks, Ryan! :D
I got mine. Holy crap, that was a lot more art than I expected. Thanks so much.
...and after stuffing 50-some envelopes like that, I still have a drawer full of art here. Man, I use a lot of paper. To celebrate Earth Day, I'm not getting any work done today!

Thank you Ryan! I'm going to give Jeph's originals to him next time I see him (which could be any moment).
Awesome. When your order came in, I totally had to dig through like 50 envelopes to see who I'd given my Wigu and Overcompensating art to, so I could trade them out and send you your own guest comics.
I recieved my package. Thank you so much! :D It was full of such random stuff haha, I loved it.
Ryan, I got my comics the other day, thanks! I love them.
I've been meaning to get on here and thank you for my package!! I love the Hindu Dieties book! And "We Shared a Smile" is one of my favorites of yours!! :) I showed my roommate it and later showed her the finished product with the lyrics and all. She laughed, having been to Japan to teach, and said, "Thats brilliant! Especially when 1,000 people cross that intersection in Shibuya EVERY time the light turns green."
Now I just need to figure out how I want to do the lyrics.. I might get all fancy and frame those two sketches w/ a second pane of glass on top with the printed and cut out lyrics. Yay art projects! ^_~
Anyway, really Ryan, thanks again for doing this for all of us! I know the cash helped for your trip, but all the packaging and giving up your originals.. just seemed like alot of effort. So THANK YOU!!
I'm glad that other people want the originals! Literally once a year, I move out of a country, and toss out garbage bags full of original art. Good to put them to use, I'll have to continue to do so in the future!
I'm glad that someone got a hold of the Hindu deities book that enjoyed it! I love that little book, but I can't carry my books with me when I travel.
And yeah... Shibuya is NUTS. If you ever go there..... try feeding the birds. Trust me. The scene suddenly turns into a Godzilla movie, as thousands of birds swoop into thousands of people... the running... the screaming..... PRICELESS.
I've kinda done something like that with seagulls on the sands of Virginia Beach. Freaked my friends out.. luckily I've never seen "The Birds". :p
Also, yeah, I love Sanjay's art! Its also amusing because I used to have a guinea pig growing up, that I named Kali. Shortened from "kalihari" because I'm a dork and her sandy colors reminded me of a desert and I had to try and be original. But who knew she was actually a harbinger of death?! Albeit an adorable one in this book! ^_~
Lastly, I know this is the digital age and everythings backed up on your harddrive.. but sometimes there is simply no substitution for the real thing! Just let us know next time you're feeling the itch to purge. I'm sure there's plenty of us that'll help take those sketches off your hands.
(Though, maybe its because drawing is your life and you do it frequently.. but I've never had the heart to throw away any of my doodles and sketches.. even the really really horrible ones! (though I kinda like to keep them to show myself where I started from.))

I remember that.
"Oh, come on! I just want to see what happens!" "I can tell you what happens! What happens is DEATH!"
Thanks for the package! The Royal Tenenbaums DVDs came in just fine and I almost passed out from the sharpie/magic marker fumes from your 12-hour comic, but it was great!!
Oh yeah, those pages were full of fresh marker fumes, weren't they? I am glad that I didn't kill you.
I got mine! I even got what I secretly wanted without even formally requesting it (at least I don't remember requesting it): the HMS Pinafore segment of History's Cup!
It's AWESOME.
Package received, thanks! LOVE the Conchords drawings.
Got my big chock-full-of-goodness envelope too! I wasn't expecting it to be THAT full. There is some amazing stuff in there. Thanks bunches!! |
